Café 19 owner Andrew and Chef John have put together a lovely menu for our first Supper Book Club of 2014. Local Author David Evans will be talking about his first thriller Trophies on Thursday 27th February at Café 19 at 7pm. Tickets are £27 which includes 2 course, coffee & mints and a copy of David’s book. For full details of the menu, please go to our Events page. We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a very enjoyable and informative evening.
We will be starting our events programme in February with the return of Cinema-on-Sea. As many of you will know, we could not show a film in January due to the replacement of the McGrigor Hall floor, which will obviously benefit all those who use the hall. Our first film is About Time, the new romantic comedy by Four Weddings and a Funeral director, Richard Curtis. The film has had rave reviews and stars the inimitable Bill Nighy.
On the 27th February we have our first Supper Book Club at Café 19 with local crime writer David Evans. Trophies is the first in a series of thrillers set in Yorkshire and featuring DI Colin Fear and his side-kick journalist Spud Shaw. David was delighted to learn that the follow up novel, Torment, (as yet unpublished) has been shortlisted in the prestigious Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger.
