We were lucky enough to be given a selection of the very special World Book Night books and so would like to give one of these away to everyone booking a ticket to see The King’s Speech. We do only have a limited number, so this offer is on a first come first served basis.

Yes indeed! After the success of the Mayor’s initiative to bring the cinema back to Frinton, we have undertaken to continue with regular screenings. The next two films are as follows:
• Saturday 2nd April – Love in the Time of Cholera – There are still some free World Book Night Books available for this on booking until they run out!
Saturday 4th JuneThe King’s Speech.
Screenings will be at 7.30pm in the McGrigor Hall. Tickets – £7 from us.

World Book Night – Saturday 5th March 2011

This is the first ever World Book Night where ONE MILLION BOOKS will be given away by an army of passionate readers to members of the public across the UK and Ireland.  We have been selected as one of the ‘givers’, which means we will be receiving 48 copies of our chosen book to give away on World Book Night.

This is the book we have chosen – Love in the Time of Cholera  by Gabriel Garcia Marquez – an amazing tale of undying love.

We will be screening the film of the book on Saturday 2nd April 2011 in the McGrigor Hall at 7.30pm.  Tickets will be £7 and available from Caxton Books & Gallery.  There will be an opportunity to discuss the film adaptation over a glass of wine after the screening.

BUT – Back to World Book Night!…..from 5.30pm in the shop on Saturday 5th March we will be giving away a free copy of the book to the first 48 people to book to see the film.

Make sure you’re one of the first 48 through the door to secure your free book and share a glass of wine to celebrate the very first World Book Night!
