This year, the theme for Frinton Literary Festival Children’s Poetry Competition is:
OUR POLLUTED WATERS
Children are free to interpret this in any way they wish; it could be in the form of a message to nature, to their present or future selves, or to people in power.
We are looking for poems which demonstrate an imaginative approach, with good use of descriptive language and original ideas.
Poems can be written in either free verse or rhyme and need to be well presented: neatly written or typed.
The competition will be judged in the following categories: Year Groups: 3, 4, 5, 6
Each child’s Name, School and Year Group should be written on the back of their entry.
All entries must be submitted to Caxton Books, Connaught Avenue, Frinton
by FRIDAY 12th October.
The competition will be judged by local authors Anita Belli and Lesley Kara.
The prizes will be awarded on
Saturday 20th October at 10.30 am
at Walton Library, 52 High Street, Walton-on-the-Naze.
